Minefields and Miniskirts, is a play that tells the extraordinary stories of 5 Australian women, (a volunteer, a journalist, a nurse, an entertainer and a veteran's wife) and their connection to the Vietnam War.
From the glitz and glamour of lavish parties to the brutality and the adrenalin of a war zone, and the horror and tenderness of caring for soldiers and orphans, these women invite us to laugh, cry, sing, forget and remember. For some, their experiences in Vietnam, or their husband's, would forever estrange them from civilian life in Australia.
These true stories are supported by an onstage musical score of folk songs reminiscent of the era. Simply staged, incorporating amazing lighting, sound and music this play will transport you into a world we can only imagine.
Come on…take your very own tour of duty with us… remember not all women wore beads in the 60’s.
